LOVE ON YOUR ACCOUNTANT

 Tax season is upon us! My favorite accountants are some of my best referral sources for new clients.  Don’t overlook these number crunchers during their most stressful time of year.  That is right… now is the time to LOVE ON YOUR ACCOUNTANT. 

From now until April 15th, Accountants meet with a majority of their clients… a great time to keep top-of-mind.  Last year I began loving on these treasured referral partners with “Tax Relief Baskets”. Basically, I get a big basket and fill it with snack foods and fruit from Costco.  I stop by every week or so until April 15th and replenish their snacks.  I’ve also treated an accountant to pedicure “business meetings”.   Or maybe send a chair massage person to your favorite accountants office?  Get creative.  If you don’t have relationship with accountants, ask your clients for an introduction to their favorites.

February Pop-by Gifts Ideas!!!

At the very bottom of this page is a big list of my favorite pop-by gift ideas for February!!!  I am doing my mailbox Valentine’s again this year.   You can find the little $1 mailboxes at the dollar spot in Target again!!! So I filled up my cart this week.  Run… do not walk… to Target and stock-up.  This pop-by is a winner.  If you can’t find them at Target… I have seen larger mailboxes at JoAnns … or just throw the candies in a bag or Mason jar.  Please don’t major in the minors.  I went to Winco and bought tons of bulk Valentine’s candy.  The total cost was $2 each.

I used a sharpie to personalize the mailbox with the client’s name.  You can do this as you walk up to the door.  Never underestimate the impact of personalizing a pop-by… people love to see their name!

My October Pop-by!!!

Here is the post I did a few years back of my caramel apple kits.  If you went to a Turning Point this year… you will have seen Brian Buffini showing it on the screen.  This was by far the most popular pop-by gift I have ever done.  It was so popular that I am doing it again this year.  I hope you enjoy it!

Well peeps… I just finished assembling my pop-bys for October… and it is a cute one.  I love to give pop-by gifts that I would love to receive myself.  So I came up with a caramel apple making kit. Here is what you need:   a quart-size mason jar, 2 cups of caramels (I bought mine bulk from a bin at Winco), 6 popsicle sticks,  bottle of sprinkles, ribbon, and some fabric. The total cost was $2.90 each… you could skip the sprinkles and get it down to $1.70 each, but everything is better with sprinkles. You could skip the mason jar and keep the sprinkles, then they would be $2.20 each.

Here it is… simply adorable.  I have a big soft spot for mason jars… and I guess caramels as well.  :)

The tagline: CARAMEL APPLE KIT! For a real estate transaction that is always “sweet” and never “sticky”! I am never too busy for you and your referrals!

Here are the directions to put on the back of the tag or slip the directions into the jar.

Makes 6 Caramel Apples: Insert sticks in apples and place on buttered cooking sheet. Place caramels in a microwave safe bowl, add 3 tablespoons milk, microwave for 2 minutes, stirring once. Roll apples in caramel quickly, decorate, and ENJOY!

Another alternative is just to buy tubs of caramel apple dipping sauce ($4 each) or bags of caramels ($2). 

 

I  promised my Buffini and Company coach of 5 years (the Ah-mazing Grace) that I would post this idea before wednesday.  A funny thing happens when you make a promise and it involves the WORLD WIDE WEB!!! Uh well… it would be pretty easy for her to find out if I did it or not.  So I am up late taking pictures with a flash in my kitchen and writing to you all.  How’s that for accountability.  Anyhow… I love ya Grace… thanks for keeping me accountable for all these years. She’s kept my business on course despite the ups and downs of the real estate market.  I couldn’t have done it without Coach Grace and Buffini and Company.  If you are thinking about getting a business coach, give Grace a call (800) 945-3485 X2121.    I am sure she would be happy to chat with you.

Support the Troops!!!

Support the Troops… well the Girl Scout Troops that is!  Our oldest daughter Lily is a 4th generation Girl Scout.  She hit the streets for the first time today selling Girl Scout cookies.  My first experience in sales and business came as I sold cookies door-to-door as a child.   These young girls learn essential skills like financial literacy, innovation, and reaching goals through cookie sales. 

So when an little girl knocks at your door in the next few weeks… make her day and order a bunch for clients. My clients love this pop-by gift.  I order 40 boxes of Thin Mints each year and hand them out for St Patrick’s day.  The Buffini website has a great tag already created for you… just access it in the member area.

My February Pop-by!!!

 Below is a post about the February pop-by I did last year.  I went into Target this weekend and found the little $1 mailboxes in the dollar spot again!!! So I filled up my cart.  Run… do not walk… to Target and stock-up.  This pop-by is a winner. 

 

How was the  start to your New Year? My february pop-by is too cute and easy not to share.  I am delivering 50 pop-bys in the next 2 weeks before Valentine’s week.  So here they are… cute little metal mailboxes with Valentine’s candy inside.  I bought the little mailboxes at the dollar spot in Target for you guessed it… $1 each.  I went to Winco and bought tons of bulk Valentine’s candy.  The total cost was $2 each. 

I used a sharpie to personalize the mailbox with the client’s name.  You can do this as you walk up to the door.  Never underestimate the impact of personalizing a pop-by… people love to see their name!
